It is my second Uruguayan style yerba and I think it is very similar to the Canarias. Maybe a little softer

This one I drink as mate cocido and then I’m primed to read or write for a long session. Not an energy boost so much as a mood change and mental clarifier. My recipe is 8oz French Press, 2 tablespoons mate, 2 oz room temp water presoak, then fill with 175F water, let sit 5 minutes, press, pour and drink it all slowly but finish before it cools too much. Later a second infusion with 7 minutes brew time will still be effective. Great to sit down and write in a journal or curl up with a paper book.
I’m sure it would work as terere or gourd/bombilla hot but I haven’t tried.
