J.J. I cured the inside of this gourd for about two days with fresh batches of used mate leaves for each day. Everything was fine on the first day. On the second day, the threads were stained green and breaking apart. I’m not sure how the mate on the inside got to the threads on the outside. I was careful to keep the mate well below the inside of the metal rim while curing.
