I experienced a broader spectrum of flavour, then improved on my cup and straw technique to find those same tasting notes.
One of the better thermos that I have come across in years for enjoying my mate the steel straw contraption for me is the key . Make sure you clean the thermos after use because after about 3 days the top flew off because it is well sealed.
Works well if you use powdery mate it will clog but other wise very nice
