John B. I am a real traditional gourd drinker BUT I have been using this consistently every week day for many months now. I really have come to enjoy this thermos. It takes just a bit to adjust to how and what works best when using it. Once you get it down it’s a real game changer, or at least it has been for me. I prepare it in the morning before I go to work. About 20 minutes in to my 1/2 hour drive I open the spout. I can hear the water rush up to the cup preparing my Yerba. A few minutes later I loosen the top section and begin drinking. No spills no mess and very simple. It fits snuggly right in my cup holder. I drink two thermos fills at work and one last one on my way home. I use leaf only fresh cut Yerba mate as my favorite in this. It’s a super healthy way to get energized for work. The stainless steel spring upgrade addition is what truly makes this thermos unparalleled to many others.
